SEO Content: Writing For Bots Or For People?

By: Qurratulain Akhtar

The well-known concept of optimized content for search engines to crawl at a rate faster than ever before is what almost every Webmaster is considering for better search engine ranking and popularity. Some write and others get it done by some professionals, but do all of them succeed attracting search engines’ attention to a greater level? Certainly not! Only few become leader while rest of them precede being at the back.

The question that is of utmost importance for both leaders and followers is, whether they should write for bots or for people? This is something controversial, for some, writing for people doesn’t worth because it’s robot that collect the search results, while others hold that robot won’t search what people are not looking for. Both school of thoughts are right at their own place but that doesn’t solve the problem.

The targets of SEO writing, i.e. bots and people are actually two extremes and the sustainable and a long-term strategy will be to have a midway between these two. That mid way, however, is not a piece of cake; instead it’s the most sensitive issue of content optimization. So better is to analyze the situation first, i.e. what people are looking for, what sort of information they find more on internet, what alternatives they can use to find the same information etc. This strategy is reader mapping if we consider the peoples’ end of SEO writing, while from bots’ point of view it’s keyword research.

Sustainable results out of an effective writing do come if both ends are considered, and maintained efficiently. Ignoring any of them may lead a supper marketing campaign into crap, so keep a track of all possible angles of writing while attempting to print some marks on World Wide Web. That’s the real success and needs a bit more time to research on demand and supply forces of Internet market.
